Hi, after encountering issues with my 2nd H100, I'm considering making the switch to a proper custom loop.

My case is a Phantom 410 (I know its not the best for WC) and for now it would be a CPU only loop on a budget of roughly 200-250.

Suggestions welcome :)

Okay...simple option if your going into your first WC loop the EK kits are pretty sweet.

all i would do is swap out the fan for a sythe gentle typhoon

That will fit into your case if you fit the rad at the bottom of the case next to the PSU, That should also suffice for cooling your CPU.

Dont be put off by people who say its difficult because its not just take your time and it will be very rewarding.

any probs there are always loyal forum member who will help you out.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have a couple of questions though:

- Compression fittings or Barbs? Which are considered better (if either)

- If in future I decide to add my GPU to the loop, will I need another rad? (assuming I go with a 240) or will a 240 suffice?

Only a 30mm 240 will fit in the roof of your case, so when you decide to add the gpu to the loop, add a 120mm rad at the rear. For now, this plus fans of your choice:-
Also, I would avoid those old XSPC 750 bay res combos as the pumps can be noisy, included in below is the updated version.

Ok, how does this look:
YOUR BASKET
1 x XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump (Black) V4 £59.98
1 x EK-Supremacy - CPU Waterblock - Nickel Plexi £56.99
1 x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Stealth 240 £35.99
1 x Mayhems Pastel - Blueberry Blue Coolant 1L £14.99
2 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1450 RPM - 3 Pin £13.99 (£27.98)
1 x Mayhems Dye, Deep Blue - 10ml £5.99
1 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 15.9/11.1mm, 2m, Clear/UV £5.99
6 x XSPC G1/4" to 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD Compression Fitting (Chrome) £2.99 (£17.94)
Total : £237.83 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Will these fans adjust speed in relation to temperature if I plug them into the CPU fan headers on the mobo?

Ditch everything apart from the Pastel (you don't need dye with pastel, looks stunning without) and go for this?: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-156-XS&groupid=962&catid=1532&subcat=

Its essentially what you have listed above, just cheaper, products in the XSPC kits are as good if not better then some of what you have listed above ;)

Edit: kit above comes with Barbs by the look of it, if you want compressions by all means throw some in the basket :)

Have a search about, despite the Phantom on the surface being quite poop for WC, many mod to get what they want in, I know for a start you can rip out the hard drive cages and put a nice thick 240 in the bottom/front :)

Have a search for some Phantom WC build logs, should give you a good idea of what should fit ;)
