Spec me a basic PC

Hi guys,

I've been tasked with building a PC for my gran. What I need is something that will be able to browse the web and have a big enough screen to be easily viewable (Preferably 20"). Thing is my budget is £400-450, any help would be much appreciated.

Things that I would need are the bare minimums for her to learn how to use a PC and browse the web. Minus an OS which we have already.

If it only needs to be very basic then how about this bad boy

I think its a steal if you really only need a basic system, its basically cpu/mb/psu&case for £50 squid.

Warning - this would be pretty damn slow and not very future proof tho tbh

np dude, your right to go with the better spec if you can, as what i posted above is poverty spec but thought it was worth pointing out as i saw it just came in the other day.

The better spec machine should outlast what i posted by years and be more upgradeable/future proof.

That's excellent for the money, pretty much a netbook in a big case. It would be more than capable of browsing the web and sending an email, don't be put off by the low price. It's perfect for a gran if you ask me, I'm tempted to buy.

Would be adequate but certainly would not trust a PSU in a bundle that costs £22!!

Wow thats excelent for the money, netbook in a case. I think that would be ideal for an eldery person that just wants to go on google ext and send the odd email.
