Ok so I'm leaning more and more towards getting rid of the Kwak. Which means I'll need something else to play with.

I've got my ADV350 for commuting/shopping/whatevs so it doesn't need to be too practical.

It must seat two people in comfort, something retro/classic so I can ride it at the DGR:

Preferably something big and torquey, not too bothered about screaming redlines, that'll be the one after this.

We're also saving for a house so the cheaper the better.

I'm open to pretty much any suggestions at this point.

Go!

Budget?

I had been eyeing up Triumph Rockets a while ago but ultimately decided it wasn't for me. Maybe fits the bill for you?

It'll be a project bike so a couple of grand at most. The cheaper the better.

There isn't much out there that fits the bill whilst also being a couple of grand without requiring about the same to get it back/keep it on the road.

Maybe a Suzuki Intruder, Yamaha Dragstar, Kawasaki VN type of bike? They usually have a decent finish, big unstressted engines, and low prices on account of being shunned by the Harley crew.

These are all excellent suggestions, maybe even a Honda Shadow. I can't handle the Kawasaki Vulcan, the rear mud guard never aligns with the wheel and it winds me up no end :p

Does the distinguished ponce ride dictate no tatty bikes? I mean the clothes look fancy so surely if the spend on the machine is as much as on beard oil your budget needs to go up :P.

I don't know what exists at a 2 grand budget though. I've just been waiting for an excuse to get the pimped R NineT with that yellow number board, ever since I had one as a courtesy bike and parked at an old pub next to an old Rolls. But I know I'd end up spending crap tons at Motolegends to dress like a ... person . Also they're still near 7-10 grand.

Good luck, live long and phosphor.
