Spec me a bread knife

about the only one I've owned Kitchen devils one, serrated on one side, scalloped on the other, with a snub not pointed tip .... bizarrely can't see it on amazon though ...
great ... usually cut gently onto a melamine type board, it would massacre the wooden chopping/bread board though.
still sharp and full functional 20+ years in.
- serrations mean it will easily catch, on the bread, where you want to cut.

They have a broader tip and are sometimes slightly more flexible, but functionally the same.

The main reason is that they're often a bit longer than a bread knife, so you can slice rather than saw larger loaves.
 
Got it from my sister years ago but I use a "worlds sharpest knife" as my bread knife, absolutely useless as a daily knife but for bread I haven't found anything better, nice and long and very serrated makes it a good combination.
 
Missed this. But. Just in case.

We've had one of these for 5 years and it's still as sharp and as keen as the day it was bought.

Glides through still warm freshly cooked bread like a good un.
