Are you just removing old finish? I think scrapers work better than sanders for that. Look for cabinet scrapers, plus the gooseneck cabinet scrapers (for grooved/recessed areas) are very useful. Also a carbide scraper for paint removal works much quicker than sanding. Plus you don't waste loads of sandpaper gumming it up with the old finish.

Thanks for the advice. Is there any particular one you'd recommend? Screwfix have this one.

That one looks good to me, you will still need to give it a quick sand after, but those scrapers cut through the old paint/stain in no time.
