My shed is on its last legs and I am looking for something for about £5k. The requirements are:

- 4 seats (either saloon or coupe).
- Not soft top.
- Some power, I prefer large engines to high revving ones.
- Preferably manual.
- Not a BMW, Honda or Proton (Highway won't cover these for some reason and I don't want to lose 6 months ncb).
- I don't like Mondeos and the GF has vetoed it anyway.

Any ideas beacause I am not really finding anything at this price.

This is going to be really hard without being able to recommend Protons.

I assume its one of the few occasions where an insurance co is working for the common good.

We need a new rule. Hit and run links in Spec me a car threads.

Any halfwit can search PH and spam links. It's not hard and it brings nothing to the table.

Instead, tell us a bit about why you think its the best car for the OP. Whats good about it? How does it fit his requirements? What do you know about them? Whats your experience of them which makes you feel able to recommend them? etc etc.

The OP is perfectly capable of looking at PH himself. He's after opinion, not links.

a large-engined merc could be the answer, but the manual 'boxes are crap, if you find any

Vovlo S60 could be worth a punt. the 5 cylinders have a fair amount of torque
what are you looking for in a car, fun in the twisties, a motorway cruiser or somewhere in between?

Somewhere in the middle, I have looked at the s60 but the interior upset the gf!

Audi S4 estate.

it fits the power criteria, but for £5k youll have loads of LOLs

No I meant what type of services, shouldn't need too much changed every 4month, oil, filters etc.

KaHn

I know you were making the point that it would just be a minor service, but just the hassle of having it done or doing it every four months would only take 8 months to annoy me enough either want to sell it.
