Spec me a car for an Au Pair?

I see your 6 months in France hasn't affected you... :p

Funny you should say that - I was actually offered a summer job over here driving a box truck + trailer and the guy just couldn't understand why I wouldn't take it when there was only the minor detail of me not having the correct licence stopping me :p

Things are certainly a lot more lax over here regarding stuff like that!

You can' assume she's going to be a horrible driver / bag of nerves, just by switching to the proper side of the road, she may well be alright. Gutless, safe, petrol. That's what you want.

As much as I didn't like driving the Jazz I was given while I had recall work done on my accord which I found rather disgraceful, I'd pick it

Surprisingly big inside for a small car, quite well equipped I thought and wasn't a bad drive I was just upset giving them my 2letre saloon for a 1.2 old persons car :( plus it's a Honda so undoubtedly reliable.

I wouldn't bother going to the hassle, within 6-8 weeks she will have ****ed you off for being lazy, thick, useless. You will then find another and the cycle begins again!

So quick update. We leased a Citroen C1 for her, arrives in a few weeks. She drives one now, so given she's going to have to get used to the nuances of driving on British roads we thought providing familiarity might help.

Cheap lease as well (1/23 - £128 8000M 5PPM extra)

We collected this today, and it seems great so far - loads of kit and very nippy. A real change from driving our XC90! :D
