handling is good on both cars, you'd hardly say one is much better than the other.

The Civic on the other hand is far more reliable, more powerful engine, is faster, meh bored now.

Both are a good idea to be honest, OP g/f should try both.

Gearbox is a million times better in the R than the Clio, much nicer engine as well. More room in civic and better seats, interior, early clios like 182 are gash.

CTR in general is the better car though.

I say CTR. For 5k i can't think of anything better. Reliable AND 200bhp AND decent fuel consumption, whats not to like. Gearbox is sublime.

Only thing going against them is image.

Million times better? Ermmm nope. Just better. Is faster? Doubt it, as even as they come. All opinions. None of it gospal.

In general better? In what way, take a 182 (with cup packs) down a country road and guaranteed it will put a bigger smile on your face than the same drive in a TypeR, being there and done that.

Engine in 182 isn't a patch on the Civic's either.

A friend of a friend swore blind his modded 172 was faster than my CTR, when i had it. It wasn't. His 172 had exhaust, remap, induction. Was even to 3rd gear then the CTR pulled ahead easily. His door handle fell off as well, lol and his brakes cooked.

Ohhh A TypeR owner? I see now all becomes clear.

Anywhere in Yorkshire? Ill show you how good a 182 will drive, all in the driver. Neither is quicker than the other. All square. Top end the TypeR may have the trump card. But who races at 130?+ Only idots.

In 3rd and pulled easy? Sure.
