I need sugggestions for a gift for someone for their b.day.

Exact specs of the rig are unknow but its a Asus P5 board & E6600 chip running standard clocks. 2Gb RAM (not sure of speed.

Will the 4850 / 4870 be bottlenecked by the chip at stock speeds? I want this card to run FSX for him at a respectable frame rate if poss but no other games.

The card should run fine in that rig, I have a 4870 with an E6600 and have no problems :), either card will run FSX fine too. Whoever the person is getting a 4870 for there Bday is very lucky :D.

I would not be surprised, Hyundai do cars and PC components :p
 
ATI 4580 ferrari or 4870 mercialego.

Shouldn't be too bottlenecked. When he's not looking overclock his cpu anyway. :p
 
lol, good work guys!

He has had a pop at OC'ing but can't seem to get far with it. TBH. he's a bit sceptical on the whole OC thing so not sure he'd let me fiddle with his machine!
