Budget - £10-14K
Doors - 4/5 (basically my other car is a Z4 which is 2 doors with a small boot so this needs to be practical in terms of getting people in/out the back as well as at least a semi decent boot)
Mileage - circa 8K annually but I'd like running costs to be not too high because I already have a thirsty 3 litre Z4. This car will spend most of it's life in standstill traffic and stuck at traffic lights so no point me having a 400BHP monster downing petrol in these situations as it's wasted.
Must haves - Newer than 2011, preferably an automatic. Petrol obviously or hybrid/electric. Something nice to sit in with a bit of class about it.
What I'm looking at - Lexus C200h, BMW 320i (automatic), Nissan Juke Nismo 1.6 dig-t (manual because the autoboxes on these are turd), Mini Cooper S Countryman (manual). I have just found myself an amazing BMW indi after 2.5 years of trying various places out and he won't touch anything else apart from BMW's so I'm more inclined towards one because he's that good and he's cheap too and completely trustworthy however if there is a better car out there I may be swayed. 5 Series would be perfect for me and I have seen a 523i (older than 2011) however the wife needs to drive the car too and it's too big for her however a big car is fine if it's a SUV/Crossover type (yes i know don't get me started, apparently it's about seating position, etc).
