Spec me a Cheapish CCTV Security System (PC Based)

Hi Guys,

Need a cheapish, yet descent CCTV security camera system. It will be mostly monitoring the front of the house.

Requirements:

- Will need to operate during nights mostly with a range of 5-10m
- Ideally connected to PC so I can record directly to HDD and view on monitor.
- Budget £100~£200
- 2 Camera's atleast required

I will let you know what not to buy first. Do not buy any Foscam camera they are garbage for night vision during the day they are just about acceptable. But at your end of the market you would get 1 decent camera for that price. Dont go for dome as they don't work as well at night. Try get a Panasonic or a sanyo failing that samsung are not bad if its wide angle you want a 3mm for about 67 viewing angle and 6mm gives about 42. You want one with a IR cut out and auto iris.

Get one in budget with those and make sure its from a decent make and you will be good to go. I did the whole cheapo cctv last week and just had to get a decent camera going for a sanyo
