My girlfriend and I are looking to go on a city break sometime soon using our Tesco Clubcard Vouchers :D Now, we have a long list of hotels to choose from (Clicky to hotels) and really don't mind where we go, as long as it's fairly inexpensive!

  • Number of nights: 1-2
  • Place: Somewhere in Europe that we can get reasonable priced flights to. However, somewhere in the UK or ROI would also be fine (Live near Gatwick Airport)
  • Max Spend: We both have about £80 of vouchers so up to £320 each for JUST the hotel. I'm not looking to spend anywhere near all of this!
  • Hotel: One of the chains on the list above that have really nice places!

If anyone knows good links (Not Clubcard related) to a website that does all-in City breaks, would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Don't know any deals but recently I got back from Zadar in croatia with my girlfriend and enjoyed it very much. Spent about £500 each including flights and spending

I lived in prague for a year and its a great city, I liked it better outwith the summer months and if you go with jet2 they have cheap flights, like from £20 - 40.

Nice city, good architecture, a lot to do in the centre and plenty of nice bars and pubs to take a break inbetween the sights. Most importantly it has good and easy to use cheap public transport. Make sure to try either the national opera house or the national theatre!

Haven't heard of Zadar, I'll look it up; thanks!

Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Looked at both, but they seem kinda pricey! :(

I definite possibility. Prague looks like a very nice place. Any hotel recommendations?

My parents stayed in the diplomat (more of a business one, but cheaper and still nice) and one called the golden wheel which was very nice, the lobby was open air as it was a courtyard for a stable so the floor for the lobby is actually a cobbled street - a private one of coure and you wouldnt guess it except from the stable doors to enter. The golden wheel is bang in the city centre (but in a nice, quiet street near friendly atmosphered bars as opposed to the strip club/stag do bars off Wenceclas sq) and the diplomat is a few metro/tram stops out, but still in a nice area.
