Very strange request i know, but im forever cleaning out Pc's and normally use an Air duster type areosol like EADP.

Has anyone had any experience with air compressors before and if so any recomendations for home use.

Cheers

I have a aldi compressor comes with tools the air blast is powerfull and may have to be adjusted also a water seperator may be a good extra .
Its a oil lubed small m/c low spec but fine.

Mine is big, it's got wheels and it's too heavy for one person to lift. Can you get them that small for domestic use?

I got one in B&Q a few years back when they had them on offer for about £50 or £60 and it came with a pin gun. It's easy lifted & it's more than capable of blowing dust out of something provided you keep the regulator turned well down or else you could damage something in a pc if you let it blow full pelt.
Noisey wee fellas though, I've been working about the house & have forgotten I've been using it, it's scared the **** out of me when the pressure drops & it tops itself up, caught me out a couple of times doing that. Always seems to be when you walk past them. :p

Aim for the biggest tank within your budget as it will be forever charging i had a 25ltr one that I borrowed and it was a right pain when having to blow out air filter etc on my car. May be ok for your use though?

You may be better getting a divers bottle and getting it refilled for £2 the air is filtered so low moisture content and it only needs testing every 5 years for surface use. I have one for my air rifle which is quite useful for giving stuff a blast to clean the dust off. :D

AFAIK you have to be careful of the build up of static if you use a compressor with a big airflow on pc components.I don't know how much of a problem this is,or if it is a problem at all tbh ,hopefully someone who does know can shed some light.

Thanks for the tips guys, i wouldnt of thought that id be getting to close to my pc, the main problem i have at the moment it the moisture content of the aerosol type sprays.

Ive given Machinemart a bell so ill see what comes back, if there are anymore suggestions it would be appreciated.

compressors can chuck out a fair ammount of moisture in the spray too, more so than the aerosol cans

They make great alarm clocks, try leaving one turned on when you go to sleep on a building site and the bugger kicks in about 4.30am

Yup, it compresses everything that goes in, including moisture in the air, however you should be fine as long as you drain the water from the bottom of the tank after each use (they have a valve fitted for this).

Make sure you get a moisture trap regulator too. That will let you adjust the presure and stop all the moisture entering the air hose. Should only be about 20-30 quid.
