I couldn't find the old computer chair thread, so anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

EDIT: Budget around £100-£150

I found the Kashmir disappointing when I went to try out what Staples had. Settled on http://www.staples.co.uk/furniture-.../guiseppe-leather-faced-executive-chair-brown in black as the best compromise between comfort and posture. I don't regret it, but I only paid £99, not £200+.

Whatever you get though, I 100% recommend going to try it first. I had to get on a train for half an hour to reach my nearest Staples, and I'm glad I did.

I've not tried either but the IKEA Markus often gets a mention in these threads. Retails at 125 and co.es with 10 year warranty.

Slightly overbudget IF you go buy it on fleabay is the steelcase leap. You probably won't get one for less than 150 secondhand but they are the mutts nuts allegedly.

Just to reiterate - own neither.

I'll bung this in both threads I've recommended the Kashmir in before, as it might be of use.

What makes the Kashmir really comfortable is that it has a kind of double decker cushion set.

It looks like Costco have a chair in stock now with the same design:

It's in their warehouse deals this month at £83.98, so quite a bit cheaper, even when Staples have a sale on. Haven't seen it in the flesh, so I can't tell you for sure it's as comfortable. Two of the pictures on the website make it look nice, but another two make it look really shiny.

I'm returning my kashmir after 13 months (staples still honouring the warranty). Gas lift doesn't hold when returning to chair.

I'm going to spend some extra pennies and get a herman miller of some sort.

Staples customer service is great.

I found the kashmir ok, but spending 50 hours a week, probably means I should get a something a little better.

I have the Ikea Markus and am relatively happy with it, and it has worn well after 3 years of 50 hour weeks. Not sure I would buy it again though, I think I would stretch the budget and get a fully adjustable chair.

I also have a gym ball and one of those kneeling stools just to provide variety.

+1 for the Costco chair. Had mine for about a year and I can't fault it. Very good, comfortable and you don't get tired in it. It's not that shiny in person and for a tad over £80 it's a true bargain. So much in fact that we'll be getting another one.

That/'s good to hear. I've got the week off next week, so reckon I'll have a trip to Costco and have a look at it.

I'm musing on buying two of them so I've got spares!

What it does seem to miss from the Kashmir is the microfibre cloth, which is very (sorry, no other word for it) snuggly. :o

But then that maybe makes it a bit warm in summer, so perhaps not all bad. I hope the finish isn't leather-like though. I find that horrible in summer AND winter.
