Spec me a computer!

Hi all, yet another new spec thread!

I have been asked to spec up a new computer for a friend. She currently has a computer but its getting on a bit and the hardware is starting to fail. She just wants a machine which will go on the internet, word processing etc. She won't be playing games on it

Could someone spec me up a cheap machine for doing this? I need everything in it really, onboard graphics will be fine...I don't think she wants to spend more than £200 - but the cheaper the better.

£200 is not possible for what you want, and if you really are very tight to that budget line then I would really recommend going 2nd hand. If you could stretch to £250 you can get the following. Note that no monitor, keyboard, mouse or operating system is included as you will have to re-use the ones you already have. If you already have an optical drive, then I would drop the one from the spec and that'll bring it in around £233. That price in the pic also includes next day delivery and fully inclusive of VAT.
