Spec me a console - No Wait...

Just means that since the 360 is cheaper to develop for, more crap/cheap games will come out for it surely? By that i don't mean loads of crap ones will be about, just that a platform that is easy to develop for is more likely to attract the crap developers. Same happened with the PS2, that had horrendous quantities of pap titles, and obviously, the Wii

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. This article details the latter.

As usual with the wonderful things that are statistics, they can say anything you want. Just add some numbers to justify X, take off other ones to eliminate unfair advantage of Y then divide by somethings that something has and something else doesn't and all of a sudden the numbers are reversed.

Whats worse with games 'rating' statistics is all the numbers we start with are purely subjective in the first place!

So in conclusion: Statistics > PS36Wii.

Simples.

Very true, if we were to consider ratings as fact then GTAIV would be the best game ever made, i don't think anyone would argue that that's true.

I recall that originally there was much moaning by people about how tricky the PS2 was supposed to be to develop for.
It's all about the learning curve.

Clearly someone needs to build a console with 1 game that has a Metacritic score of 85 or above, and hey presto it's the winner!! :)

You'd like to think being able to pick from 48 excellent titles would be better then picking from 36 titles, but maybe that would be too much common sense.. Instead I have to rely on blindly walking into a shop and picking at random from the shelf, in which case you are quids in with the PS3!..

Seems a really really bad system to base it on tbh, as has already been stated there is a lot that the review doesnt let on.
