I have gone through numerous ps3s/xbox360, I just want something that I can pick up and play. I find myself more of a casual gamer now.

I'm interested in picking up a ps4, I bought one at launch but never used it. I'm just unsure that I may not enjoy the experience because of the lack of games. I would also use the blu-ray feature. Is it worth my money or should I just get a ps3 to play GT6 on? As racing sims are the main type of game I play, along with some fps.

Nintendo wii u also interests me but I'm sure I'd get bored of Mario quickly.

Help?

XB1 if you want something geared a bit towards a media centre.

If you're core interest is the gaming and the gaming only, I'd grab a PS4.

Oh and inb4 flame war :p

I don't want a full on media device. I have friends with ps4 so don't mind a tad of multiplayer, it's just something to relive my boredom in the evenings. I'm geared towards the ps4, it's just the lack of titles at the moment don't make it seem worth it.

If media holds no interest and your friends have ps4, then you have your answer. ps4, and ps4 has quite a few casual games as well.

Zen pinball
rayman legends
Dead nation
resogun

and then you have the heavy multiplayer games like battlefield 4 .

The smaller psn titles really can keep you entertained, Zen pinball has provided me hours of fun, I'm like you, I like to stop boredom in the evenings, I have found both ps4 and Wii u does this.

X1 media doesn't do much for me, I've got a smart tv, that does my media for me, and other then forza 5 can't see a use myself for x1.

Trials fusion for both x1 and ps4 out this month, previous trials games have been a blast

IMO it has plenty of titles to keep my interest ATM.

I have War Thunder, BF4, Killzone, Tomb Raider, Lego Marvel, Fifa as well as all the free PSN Plus games.

I will be picking up many more, in fact I am buying more games on the PS4 than I ever did lately on the PS3.

Coming from someone who has both consoles (I am not getting rid of the Xbox One) I would suggest the PS4. First time I've had a Playstation since I was about 14, however I am very happy I have made the change.

Graphically the PS4 will offer more 'umpf' and has some nice exclusives.

Well, my main uses will be games and blurays. It supports 3d blu-ray like the ps3 right? I'm just looking to get need for speed rivals until drive-club/the crew come out. I'm not looking to overly do it on the gaming front.

The problem with me is, I end up getting bored, playing the same games and decide to sell only to get withdrawal symptoms. :p

Not sure what to do to be honest. I would like to have it just there incase some decent games come out in the future.

Don't think ps4 has 3d playback as yet... it's meant for a future update. I too get bored quickly st times, but ps4 has provided me hours of entertainment..

resogun alone was enough back when I got the console at launch, boy was that game additive lol

PS3 seems to fit the bill here. If you're just a casual gamer I can't see the point of buying a £350 console and £40 games when there's bound to be loads of PS3 titles you haven't played.

Already have an iPad lol. I ended up buying a ps4 through work, going to set it up now and see what's what.

Think youve already made the decision, its just the timing isnt right now. If you need something right now get a PS3 with PS+ so you can save the PS4 titles ready when you decide you want that - you may decide you just dont need more than a PS3 in the end...

You just dont sound like something who wants/need a 'next gen' console

ps3ud0

Do you have a gaming pc too? If so a WiiU would make more sense as the overlap between PC and PS4/XB1 is massive. Otherwise a PS4 is a pretty safe choice. Powerful tech with plenty of decent games on the way.

I'd have gone with a ps3 or xbox 360 again if I were you and just into casual gaming. So many titles to choose from and dirt cheap. I love my Xbox 1 but obviously the wealth of titles on last gen is ridonkulous! :D

I ended up purchasing a ps4 with n4s. I rather have had something to play with friends with when I want, and something I can just pick up, have a few games of and put down.

I quite like it, seems a good bit of kit. I'm just going to wait for driveclub/the crew to come out and that's me set for a few months.

Ps3's second hand are going for 120/150quid depending on model. I just thought I'd pay the extra and get something that'll have some good titles later down the line.
