I'm die hard keyboard and mouse but fancy playing some racing games on the couch...probably using the steam streaming feature to my htpc...

Looking at the steam controller...is there anything else I should consider ?

Gyroscope looks cool?

Picked up Dirt 3 cheap in the sale :)

Probably can't get better than the Xbox 360/One controller in all fairness, I tried PS3 one but didn't feel as good.

Wwirless xbox 360 controller, i bought one recently. The only thing i use it for is driving around in gta on my sofa. For everything else im mouse and keyboard like yourself. I bought the official controller so i know its decent quality but bought third party reciever charging cable and battery pack as they were a fraction of the price of the MS ones.

As above, 360 wireless controller with the dongle and works a treat, I had a PS3 controller for a bit as my 360 broke and it's a pita as it doesn't just work like the Xbox one. You have to have extra programs and all that rubbish.

Steam controller is terrible for racing games. Super short triggers.

And gyro steering is finicky and honestly a bit terrible. Nothing more than a novelty for these types of games. Ever played some crappy, time-wasting mobile racing game on your phone? Yea, it's about that level of steering control in the BEST case scenario. Worst case, the game is unplayable.

OcUK don't sell them but these just google Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver

Just grab a 360 controller and the wireless receiver, you cant really go wrong, they are probably my favourite controllers, although I do love the PS ones...
