Been a long in the tooth mouse/keyboard guy, all the way back from Wolf3d...
The time has come to begin the transition to the "new age" and get to grips with a <shudder> console controller.... i guess the days of pc gaming are numbered and i better get learning with a controller before i'm too old ;)

Many games like Warhammer:Space marine/Deux ex 2 etc are gamepad ready...

Question is, can i buy a 360/ps3 controller and bluetooth pair it to my PC?
If not, can anyone spec me a decent controller? I bought a wired USB from the bay, but it died after 3 hours (analogue stick broke)....

Just buy a wired Xbox 360 pad, most modern games support it naitively anyway and it is better than the Sony pad.

Having said that I still play most third person games with the keyboard and mouse, I only really use my Xbox controller for acrade racing games like GRID because any game that requires me to aim at anything I'm useless with the controller.

Another vote for the 360 Pad.

I use the wireless one, you need to plug it in every now and then to charge but I prefer it over the wired one (dog ate the cable last time).

wired 360 pad for pc,

However i've just switched to a console (360) and am contemplating a mouse and small controller combo for FPS as i just can't get to grip with aiming with a controller.

line up for a head shot and i'm full of holes before i get there!

Another vote for a 360 pad.

If you're using a wireless pad you need a wireless receiver for your PC for it to work. If you don't have a pad already just buy a wired one. All you need to do then is download the driver.

The 360 wireless pad isn't Bluetooth, it uses 2.4Ghz wireless. You'll need to get the adapter. :)

The adapter came with the one I bought...

I have the Razor, It's good but does not feel right, having 2 extra buttons that you can map is also a good idea, save the money and get the 360 pad like everyone is saying thats what I'm useing now.0.

I don't know if they're any good but I have seen these and they seem very popular

They are superior build quality to the 360 controllers.

They are x-input controllers so fully "360 pad" compatible :)

Not sure if worth the price over the 360 controllers though.
