I'm sure I remember someone posting about a lovely place in North Yorkshire that was the ideal country house and excellent restaurant?

We're looking at heading up to visit family in Leeds once we can, and will take the opportunity to have a few days off. Also so we're not spending 4-5 nights in her parent's tiny house :p So my ideal is to find a lovely country pub/house with a decent restaurant that we can relax and explore some countryside. Being stuck in London is becoming overbearing!

Thanks for any recommendations :)

It’s West Yorkshire rather than North Yorkshire, so won’t be the place previously recommended, but I’d recommend Haworth Old Hall. Great pub, friendly staff and atmosphere, and good food.

Plenty to see and do in the area and it’s easy to get out to the Dales or into Leeds.

Spent 5 years commuting into Leeds from just outside Haworth, so it was our local of choice, and when we go back to visit the area, that will be first choice for where to go.

We stayed here last November https://www.fauconbergarms.com/

Great pub in a very pretty & quiet village and the room was lovely. Evening menu looked excellent, though we had booked The Black Swan (Tommy Banks) which is only a few miles away. Owners were really nice people.

Not far from Helmsley (Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Castle), Castle Howard, Yorkshire Moors etc.

Aha, that was the place I remembered someone had mentioned on here before thanks :D However, it's quite pricey and seemingly sold out for their room+dinner deal until Oct! I will check the other reservations but £125/head for 1 michelin star is very steep in my opinion!

EDIT: Will check out all the other options too, thanks :)
