Spec me a cpu/motherboard/and memory

Don't know whether to wait for the new stuff, i got about 1400 quid.

I dont want this to turn into a duo/quad fanzine. I'll be keeping my 8800 ultra for the time being. Won't be putting it in SLI i don't think.

So what do you think?

p.s. Its for gaming and Internet. I also have a Dell 27" Monitor, so will be running at high res

With that budget wait for i7.

If urgent then:

Intel C2D E8600
Asus P5Q Deluxe
4Gb PC8500 RAM (CL4 timings)

About as fast as you'll get for gaming on current hardware.

£1400 is a lot on just those 3 things. It would get you a good i7 setup when it's released, but from reviews and benchmarks a good c2d setup is better, from a gaming perspective anyway.

If it was me I'd go with the above spec.

Will that not cause problems with an cross type m/b?
