Second date, I've not really got that much money (recession!). She suggested dinner then a nightclub to dance, which I'm fine with but I kinda want to establish my tendency to be spontaneous and take the lead. I've got a few ideas but nothing that really packs an innovative punch as of yet.

Just wondered if you guys had any smart ideas that were unrelated to pasty smashing or the normal boring thing people do when courting (dinner, a movie, a walk on the beach) etc.

Nothing is unrelated to pasty smashing.

NOTHING.

Saying that, it's a second date, for now maybe just do what she wants to do. If you go nuts now she may thing a few things, either your too desperate, over the top or completely insane.

My advice would be to stick with the norm, dinner and dancing, maybe back to your/her place for a drink afterwards followed by a round of pa....sorry, anyway, just get the cliche generic "date" stuff done first before being "random" and "spontanious", otherwise you may end up coming on a bit strong.

Personally I dislike the idea of buying things/paying to go places on dates, to me it always feels like I'm buying their attention, or that for them to spend time with me we have to be doing something. I suggest staying in, cook her a meal, find some crappy movie you won't watch and just enjoy some peace and a few drinks as opposed to going to a loud club where you'll not be able to talk and you'll both end up looking like psychos to the backdrop of strobes. wait for a little longer to go clubbing when you're more comfortable and can dance *on* each otrher ;)
