After a lamp to go on my PC desk. Looking for something sleek, sexy and modern.

No idea what i'm after so i'm hoping some of you could help me out. Willing to spend up to £20.

John Lewis have got some nice ones on their website at the moment, problem is they are quite costy and a fair bit over the £20 budget.

For that sort of money I'd say hop down to B&Q / Homebase and take a look around :)

Cheers. Might nip to Argos tomorrow in my dinner time and have a wee look. Thinking about Ikea but heard they're expensive there.

Thought I'd hijack this thread instead of starting a new one.

I'm also after a desklamp for around £50 or less.

I have a 3 level touch desklamp with a halogen G9 bulb which has been perfect up to now. However I do close work these days and the lamp sort of burns my head.

I've tried fluorescent tube lights but they all flicker so I'm after an LED desk lamp that can output the same as a G9 light bulb, about 490 lumens. I'm fine with white light btw, I actually prefer it to the yellow glow of the halogen bulbs.

I have a mathmos air switch that looks like a chemical beaker thing.

Activated by moving your hands over the top. Up and down brighten/dimmer it.

I was going to get one of those ages ago but I heard the infrared switch can break easily. How's yours doing?
