hia i need to draft another project proposal as mine been pretty much rejected and I have no idea.

I did have a sheet with ideas but its been misplaced.

im after anything really, as long as its suitable and substantial enough.

thanks a lot !!

does it have to be work based or are you able to do a "free" project

If free:
*Microprocessor controlled system i.e. water sanitation with pumps etc. (using a Ardunino) Also include a HMI page for control. Plenty of information out there for that and programming is relatively easy.

* Spec and build a home automation system for heating/lighting etc.

um i did a water regen system using vsd's. three phase ac pumps and pneumatic controlled valves.

The universities seem to love anything to do with PIC controllers so might as well have a look at the websites for previous projects

how about engineering a device/system monitor that can detect the presence of vowels, and put the appropriate A or An in front of them?

how a bout being less of a ****?

doesn't have to be work based.

ill take a look at those suggestions mate. thanks a lot.

i take it those ideas are substantial enough and will take a decent portion of the year to complete?

a bout? like a bout of flu maybe?

Im sorry, your sentance makes no sense at all, maybe yourself and the OP could invent a machine, that corrects a lot that is wrong with the youth of today?

or is that, ti yoot ov taday

How about stop being a pompous ass, you knew damn well what he said.

Why not design and build a perfectly functioning replica of a woman, capable of independent decision-making and abstract thought and absolutely undetectable from the real thing?

I did it last year and only had to prove that I worked 80 hours over the year, but I was part time day release from work, so not sure if you are in the same boat tbh.

But in theory they should be substantial to last an entire year.
The water sanitation project can be split into multiple parts:
  • Research Current sanitation systems
  • Research Types of Control systems in place i.e. PLC, PC-PLC and In this Case PIC
  • Spec A fictional system.
  • Spec inputs and outputs, I.e. will you have temperature, Flow, Pressure for inputs and what types of instrumets and sampling systems.
  • Spec What type of Outputs you are going to require, digital relays to drive solonoids, 4-20ma output to drive vsd's or armatures
  • Create a box to simulate the whole thing, including pots relays, leds etc.
  • Create a Fully functional Scada (HMI) page that can control the system
  • Write a conclusion

The Home automation:
  • Specification on what you want it to do
  • Specify type of house
  • specify inputs such as temperature of rooms, Infra-red detectors to detect people etc
  • Specifiy out puts, I.e. use a digital output to trigger a solonoid operated valve to control hot water to a room or a relay to control lighting etc
  • Make a user friendly hmi to control house from one main pc etc.

the list goes on and on.

Home automation brings up the following
Simple system
instructables

Unfortunately all my class were work based apprentices, so can't really sneak you any of there projects to edit, unless you work in a power plant/ steel works or pharmaceutical factory.
