Spec me a European city for NYE

I wound up getting a last minute deal to fly up to Edinburgh for hogmanay last NYE and absolutely loved it. Great street parties/atmosphere and plenty of entertainment. I didn't feel quite so good on the flight home the next day but that is the price you pay!

Anyway I'm interested in doing the same this year and interested if anybody has any suggestions for good cities to celebrate in. I'm looking for something outside the UK but not too expensive to fly to (i.e. NYC and the like are out) but most European cities would be a good bet.

To be clear, I'm going for the one night so have no need for any sight-seeing or similar entertainment. All I'm looking for is a great city to have a new year's party in and then get the heck out of there the next morning

Did Berlin last year. Was surprising the amount of people firing starting pistols in the street to celebrate.

Rather strangely the best NYE I've ever had was in Portree on Isle of Skye. Brilliant, friendly locals and masses of booze coupled with great friends and a carpark liaison (I'm classy me).

I spent 2009-2101 NYE in a tacky club in Bratislava. Called Club Ibiza or something like that. Absolutely loved it.
