Spec me a fast, useable 20k car

That's a Cat D insurance write off. That's the sort you get for this money, ie rubbish ones.

And there is not a new M3 coming out in the next 2 to 3 months so I am not really sure what you are on about?

Not all the time. My cousin is about to sell his Interlagos Blue/Black 2007 M3 coupe and it's a tidy well looked after car with c. 55k on the clock. It's not got EDC but he's taken c. £21k for it. You can pick up decent E9X M3's at that price privately, but the good ones are few and far between.

Think the F80 M3's are due mid-2013 with the M4 2014. The specs on the tri-turbo 3.3 (if true) look pretty tasty.

2002 turbo. pics ? :D

I will dig some out when i get home, awesome car but they are serious money pits! Managed to buy it off an elderly chap very cheaply, spent some money tidying it up then sold it on when prices started to get silly

Okay, here I go...

Mini GP. These cars hold their value almost too well and as time goes on they may even increase in value. The GP is well over 5 years old now yet some owners and dealerships won't hassle to place a 15k + asking price.

There's a GP with a little under 800 miles on the clock going for 20k and I've recently had dealership contact me to find out whether I'd be interested In their latest arrival.. a GP with 8000 miles on the clock..... Alas their asking price is a little over 17k.... I'm not prepared to stretch that far just yet.

Anyway, that is my wild card.

Flame on...

Out of interest why would you pick a Mini GP at this price point? Not trolling as I haven't driven one, just curious.

Seems a lot of money to spend considering what else you can get, or are they really that good?

Iv never actually driven a new Mini of any kind so out of interest I may well get a test drive in one of these. Although its a very different car to what i was looking for Id prefer to drive one before dismissing it out of hand as it does tick many of my requirements.... thanks for the suggestion :)

17K for a 5 year old mini, doesn't sound to me no matter how special it is!

Hell for 17-18K you can get a 370Z or Focus RS or something not 5 years old and considerably nicer!

370Z for 17-18K?

Didn't even know they were that cheap already!!

/thread for me :)

I know it's shocking, a lot of them are the non GT versions but either way a lot of car for the money.

One of the main reasons I didn't go for a later 350Z is that I didn't think a 10-12K 350Z would be worth it considering how cheap the 370z's are getting. I reckon they will be dropping around 15K in the next year though.

Your right Fox, it is trivial but

A: I object in principal to having 400 notes stolen from me on an annual basis for the 'privilage' of driving on some of the worst roads in the developed world.

You've not seen many roads in other countrys, despite what you may think of our roads, they are in a lot better condition than many many other countrys, even european ones! :)

You wince @ £400 road tax yet are considering an e60 M5 that'll make the treasury a very pretty penny given its monumental thirst.

Strange! :p
