right need a multi tool for roughly £20

need a small screwdriver set multi heads, and pliers etc that can fit into a backpack, prefrably some sort that can handle voltages for about £20

and some sort of hard case for an asus eee 901 ?

£20? That's not much. For a bit more you could get a Victorinox cybertool which might do the job. You could also try a knocked off Leatherman or similar.
