spec me a First Time Track day

sign up for a trackday and some tuition, it is unlikely you need to do any of that bar perhaps the oil change if you have something that is reasonably tuned.

I do events (trackdays, solos etc) into the double digits each year and still manage plenty of milage out of brakes/tyres.

I posted some info on one of the cheap motorsport events (Autosolo) here, save me regurgitating there is a vid and images etc. plus waffle from me, you can compete in anything. You can see from my images I am not taking it easy :) no damage and minor wear, very little fuss, just do it :)

In lower classes 1.4 rovers and corsas and in sports car class cheap MX5s seem to be a favourite, I just use my daily driver.

Just watched your vid, i NEED to get in on something like that its exactly the kind of thing i've been looking at doing! My Subaru might not be the ideal car atall but im sure it'd be massive fun!

An Impreza has taken FTD (Fastest Time of the day) at nearly every event I have seen, closely followed by MX5s, down to driver though as I've been quicker in my Punto than other Impreza drivers. :)

Also just watched the vid - that looks like an absolute blast Sandys!

Shame I have the complete wrong car though. Too big, heavy and fulltime 4wd means no handbrake use!
Need to see if there is anything like this local to me to go spectate

That's the beauty of it you can compete in any old banger, just needs to be road legal.

The event in the vid is quite a small one, when they are run at larger venues it can be faster and more flowing.
