I remember having linux installed on a similarly specced laptop (K6-333, 160MB RAM) which I installed RH7.3 on when I was at uni. Ran like a dog until I swapped Gnome (which was a 1.x version!) for TWM. Happy days, and it postponed the inevitability of working on my project for a bit
