Spec me a flight controller please

I got an Oculus Rift when they first came out. For the first two years I was playing racing games with a controller. Then I bought a racing wheel, pedals and a stand. Playing racing games became a lot more immersive with the wheel and pedals. I was kicking myself a little bit that I didn’t get a racing wheel sooner.

I have been playing Ultrawings with the touch controllers. I think Ultrawings is brilliant. I have also recently purchased Aerofly FS2 simulator. I want to buy a flight controller and a stand to use with my rift but I don’t have a clue about what to buy.

Do I need to get something like these two together

I will only be purchasing easy to learn flight sims and games like Ultrawings. I don’t want to have to spend ages learning how to start the engine up and get the plane flying.

One of the things I love about Ultrawings is how easy it is to learn how to start up and fly the planes and glider.

I am looking for a flight controller that is easy to use, plug and play and works with Ultawings. I am also looking for a flight stand.

Can somebody spec me some equipment please.
 
The LOGITECH G X52 joystick has a twist axis that you can use as a rudder so you may not need separate rudder pedals. It depends on what you will be playing and whether you want a degree of fine control for your rudder axis, the pedals will provide more fine control.
 
Thrustmaster do the rather decent T16000M set, available in three packages - just the joystick, joystick with throttle, or joystick with throttle and pedals.
It's about the best bang for buck without investing in high end kit, while still doing a good job in both serious flight sims, space sims and more casual games, as well as those from other genres.

The newer Logitech stuff is basically the old Saitek kit that was bought out by MadCatz and then subject to serious quality reduction. Older Logitech kit with the Force Feedback is far better, but very hard to find nowadays.

I prefer CH Products kit myself, but that's starting to get expensive.
It all depends on how seriously into this you want to get.... but worth noting that I only bought mine to play Elite Dangerous, initially, and it's since done exceptionally well in many other games.
 
The best bang for buck is probably the t16000 and has good reviews.

Beyond that depending on budget.

Saitek X52, X56.

Thrustmaster Warthog.

Virpil, VKB, WinWing are more expenshive enthusiast level gear.
