I recently upgraded to a 290x. It seams a touch wasted on my Samsung SA700 (120hz 1080p).
I've been itching to move to 1440p for a little bit, so it seams like a decent time to do that.
Are there any 1440p, freesync, higher refresh rate (will consider overclocked monitors at around 100hz if thats a thing?) monitors that come well recommended? from what I've picked up on the forum without actually looking properly, it looks like I'm looking in the £500 sort of bracket. That seams like a hell of a lot, especially considering they don't seam to come without compromise yet, ie freesync only working in limited ranges.
I guess I could stretch to that sort of money, but I would want to make sure I'll be happy with it until 4k is as commonplace as 1440p is now.
Would also consider 1600p, but I think they have fallen out a favour now, so I dont think there is much of that around.
Also, is the move to 1440p very noticeable? Did it make you smile the first time you loaded up your favourite game in 1440p glory? or is it more of a subtle thing?
