Spec me a game for tonight!!!

Dead Space.

Only got it cause i read the thread here and it said it was good. I am in the 2nd chapter and it is good. Scary too. Doom 3 scary, but not as repetitive (yet)

+1 here for Dead Space. Get it on PS3, as the 360 is too noisey for this game, and play it at night with the lights down low and the volume up (preferably with headphones) and prepare to make cake in your undies :D :p

Are people still posting stupid comments like this?

I don't think it's a stupid comment at all. If I had both consoles then this would definately be on PS3 just because the sound effects etc in the game really add to the atmosphere and if you are unlucky enough to have a noisey 360 (seems to be about half and half on these forums) then it might detract from the game a little. I didn't mean it as 360 bashing, merely as an opinion on which system to get this game for. If it was a game like COD4 and you had both systems I would have said 360 due to LIVE.

Got Crackdown, Is deadspace worth buying rather then renting then?

IMO definately, but I suppose it depends on your budget. It's not a really long game so if you rent regular then that may be the way to go, in which case get FarCry2 instead ;)

It wasn't a stupid comment at all. I got both consoles and I bought it for PS3 for exactly that reason.

BUT if some someone said to me the 360 version was more superior i would have got that.

I got it for the PS3 cos i wanted trophies lol If it was on both and both where the same, but the 360 had achievements and the PS3 had nowt, i would have got it on the 360.

Some people really do get defensive about the 360 noise issue. It seems to me like some 360's are noisey and some aren't, but there are people in the 'I have a quiet 360' camp who seem to think others are lying!!!

Just turn the volume in the game up if it bothers you that much

Played Dead Space have you???

This isn't a run and gun game, you walk around corridors on your own and it is (shockingly enough) very quiet. Then something may jump out at you. But i can imagine on the 360 the drive will whirr up before something is about to happen, taking the suspense away. And turning your TV up (even to 100%) doesn't help at points when there is no sound in the game.

Surround sound does help.

And the 360 doesn't "whirl" up when something comes around the corner. It already loads the majority of the game on the initial load.

I have a 360 and to be fair, its very noisey!

I put it under my bed because it kills the noise a lot :p

At no point does it go completely silent like when something is muted. Not that i have come across anyway. There is always some noise going on, be it quiet.

So no matter how loud you turn it up, it will never drown out the noise of a DVD drive whirring, because it is obscenely quite in the game at points, then has a loud noise to give you a fright.
