Spec me a game for xmas

This could be quite a challenge,
i have a fairly oldish computer, cant even remember wha spec it has but i can run SWAT 4 and medieval 2 and i have 1 gig of ram. Looking for an easyish game im not to good at them to be honest. I tend to get lost if the maps are big.
I like games like C&C but again i get so far then get stuck and give up.
Looking for either some shooter or stratergy type thing, like the look of world in conflict but dont know if i can run this also had ghost recon in my hand a few times but not bought it.

what do you guys reccomend?

Call of Duty 4?

You should be able to run it, maps are small and linear, but the single player is quite short. Although after you finish it you can do arcade mode or replay it on harder difficulty to make it last longer. Multiplayer is great if you like online fps's too.
