Spec me a game to save my PC

Theres little out at the moment that in my opinion is any good mate, some of the games here listed by people for me where just poor in many ways. Mass effect series for one, they where complete crap, stalker and fear are also poor. fear 3 is really poor and repetative.

Portal 2 i finished also the other month, that kept me busy for a few weeks, still for me the best racer on the pc is grid, although getting old now nothing seems to be a playable and look as good as that. The next big thing is alright if you like your adventures, pretty tricky too, so would keep you going for a while. Deadspace 2 wasnt too bad, a bit boring after a while though. Dirt 3 was ok too, but again gets boring. You could play black ops but you might be one who hates that game. Other than those games there really is nothing out, TF2 is fun though. I hate co op games so im not one to recommend games like brink, borderlands, left for dead series etc. Bores me to tears. Moh is alright, but the respawn points online are a joke. Crysis 2 gameplay is poor just like the other crysis games, TDU2 is poor and NFS are poor. Byt some people like bad games, so you might find something you wanna have a go at.

STALKER poor?! Right...

Have you thought about getting in to video editing or anything which isn't game-centric? From you sig it seems you have a pretty beasty machine which could handle lots of different projects :)

Photoshop perhaps?

Also, do you play many online games with friends? I usually find online shizzle keeps my interest for longer when playing with a regular group of people :)

I found mafia 2 fun and has a great story the driving can get a bit tedius at times but is one of the few single player games i actually finshed.

The call of duty games are a decent play through as well on single player.

Plants vs zombies is a addictive game.

Any of the bioware rpgs if you not played them, knights of the old republic, dragon age, mass effect 1+2.

The witcher games look good i need to get around to playing them.

Or take your pick out of any mmo out there.

I'm still yet to even try out Morrowind myself :/

I wasn't aware of these graphics mods, but they look absolutely beautiful - there's really no excuse not to play Morrowind now. I had it on the xbox in 2002 after following its development for some years in xbox mags, and was blown away.

A poster on the mods promo video on youtube put it really well: "...the underlying game is so so SO much better than oblivion. Sense of freedom is so pronounced." The game world is so huge, broken up into different zones with different races, architectures and environments, and you can do whatever the hell you want right from the start.

The majority of modern games are not good, PC or not, it's as simple as that. Hence why you usually have to look to games in the past if you want to find a good one.

For me what defines PC gaming are competetive FPS games, such as Quake. Personally I play Quake Live (effectively a remake of a game that is more than 10 years old), and I can't see myself stopping for a very long time. The reason being, is that the game has such a massive learning curve that will take you forever (quite literally) to master, and the journey is such brilliant fun. There is always something you can improve upon, weapon skills, item timing, movement, map knowledge, teamwork, stratergy, the list goes on.

Then of course there are single player games I play when I don't feel like playing multiplayer, but they are rarely modern games. The last single player game I played was System Shock 2. Before that was Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which is a modern game I know, one of the rare good ones, very good infact :)

Thanks to Quake Live, I will never need to play another multiplayer FPS game again :p (probably)

If you disagree with me you might as well go ahead and sell your PC and get a console.

Do you even like games? Why have such a powerful gaming pc if you hate everything? Maybe its in fact you that's boring and not all those awesome games you mentioned.

Also to the op as leeroy wont like these either as they as games have you tried the total war series? great games also maybe give stalker a try like people have said and add the complete mod. looks much better that way.

Hah.

Tired single player fps corridor shooting formula that brings nothing new to the table? Thats really going to salvage his feelings about pc gaming.

to be fair i wasnt going to buy this but was giving to me, Its not bad. I like my fps games and its nice to not have a modern war setting for a change as they all seem to be right now. If found cheap its worth it

ps

some decent graphics also

No, I think games are in general better than ever and some people get stuck in a time warp. Quake is a classic but doesn't do anything for me anymore. system shock and amnesia are both highly regarded but theres so much more

You can refine all those things in TF2 as well...

As for good "modern" games as you like to call them, there are plenty. Go play some...
