Spec me a game where I can conquer the world please

empire earth 1 or 2 (teo is great with territories) but ee3 is a pile of balls avoid at all costs.

It's not the whole world more age of empires style but I'm sure theres a custom map for you.

Not really looking for that style of RTS game, I should have said in the OP, but I'm sure how you describe RTS games like AOE, EE, Stronghold, Mech Commander, COH, JTF etc.

aye you saying you don;t want that type of game?

if you are I would advise Galactic civ 2 (yes it;s space but it;s more in line with civ than any space game, it has not 3d aspect but lots of strategy and backstabbing via diplomacy* the other AI's wil ldo this to you btw )

otherwise i would say EE2 as the territories system makes it unique in strategy games ij tht you have to conquer a territory before you can build there/take its resources.

only problem is the defualt AI is a bit poo, but iirc the custom AI['s are good.

Yeah I'm saying I don't like that kind of game, thnks for the suggestions.

But tbh I think EE is going to be too dated feeling for me to enjoy it, and I really don't like space strategy, it's too pathetic when you have laser guns and pulse ray canons and crap like that.

I just found out what the genre I'm looking for is called, apparently it's called Grand Strategy?

EE2? EE was an incredibly good game online, they ruined the series though. Any oldschool players on? name was ~ÇØßŘĄ~ used to play in heroes.

looks terrible though...

A timeless classic, just get over the graphics. We are not going to be able to find you anything decent if you insist on something from the last couple of years:p.

Agreed. I really wana go back to EE but my disk is scratched to peices. Still got friends who play it today.

And thast an EE2 screen not EE. EE looks worse.

Thing is I wouldn't and don't mind old games if there not trying to look good, eg. Civ 3 (except Civ 4 was better so made it obsolete anyway), but when it's a fully 3D game and trying to look nice it just gets annoying :p

I'm going to say Gal Civ II as well-I can't stand space strategy games, but thought that Gal Civ was stunning-there isn't really a focus on laser cannons and all that jazz, although they do play a part, so maybe it isn't quite as "pathetic" as most space games.

In fairness you're giving us such narrow parameters that the only games which fall within them are ones which you will have already played! Maybe you should try something new ;) Download the Gal Civ demo at least, its only a few hundred MB and is a big big demo!

Yeah I know I'm fussy, that's why I asked. I'm just playing the Supreme Ruler 2020 demo at the moment and i quite like it.

I'll try GC2 after :)

darwina ?

Never heard of it, what's that?

:D

Darwinia is more or less indescribable-best I can do is recommend that you look at a few reviews! It's made by the same people as Defcon and Uplink if that helps-very cool game though.

Good luck to you with supreme 2020, saying its deep/complicated isnt the word! There are a few guides to help you out on the web somewhere if you get stuck google is your friend

Yep I have. Not much but I have it there for when I can settle down for a few days to take over the world - maybe this Christmas :)

To be honest I got muddled with so much information at my fingertips that I didnt know what to do first :)

I ended up getting into the detail of taxes etc - think I should have took a step back and look at the big picture. Anyways it is the closest thing to a real humanised "earth" sim you can get.

Yeah, I can't wait to get the full version. Although was slightly taken back by the fact that I just took over Syria as Israel with almost no input from me...

(on the demo)

I think the game map is seeded like that to a certain extent. Also im not sure qwhat trade relations/agreements exist at the start -whether its randomised or not.

Btw nice photos!
