Hey

My good-2-years-old logitech gaming headset is no good for me anymore, its microphone gone rubbish.
Looking for a new gaming headset with a built in microphone. Mainly for FPS games, some mmorpgs, and VOIPs such as ventrilo, teamspeak, and such.
I don't have a budget limit although I just want something good and comfy to use that will do its job, doesn't have to be the most expensive set, not at all.

Thanks

Get a proper set of cans with a separate mic.

HD555s or DR150s with a USB mic or similar is far better than crappy headsets :) (Coming from someone who has DR150s and a seperate mic, I previously had 'said' Creative Fatal1ty things)

If you can use a seperate mic, its a much better solution. I have a fatal1ty headset, and also some better speakers and headphones and the quality difference is night and day. The fatal1ty is fine for voip, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than that.

A lot of gamers have said as such in the sound city forum as well so I don't think you've looked hard enough ;) as a lot of gamers have commented on moving from headsets to headphones, if you must have a headset, the Senn PC350, with the foam mod is probably your best choice, but IMO the money would be better spent on good headphones (Senn, Goldring, Grado et al) and a decent standalone mic.

A standalone mic, these are any good?
I remember having a crappy one ages ago it was a nightmare to use really.

I don't need it (The headset) for anything more than just gaming and talking on ventrilo/teamspeak etc... no music at all.

I have had a few headphones and for gaming Icemat Siberias were the business. Comfortable, not closed back (important if your using vent, as you need to be able to hear your voice) and a separate microphone. Not to mention cheap! Relatively.
