Hi folks,

Upgrading from the PC in my sig.

I have a 24" 1920X1080 monitor which I'm happy to keep. I also have an Akasa Zen case which I'm happy to use for the new rig provided it'll fit etc. So, I don't need a monitor or any other peripherals and may/may not need a new case.

I mostly play FPS, RPGs, RTS etc.

I'm looking for top performance in current games like BF3 and as much future-proofing as possible. I tend to upgrade my desktop once every 5-6 years so I'd like this one to last me that long. My upgrade criteria is usually when I'm unable to play the latest games at all - I just reached this point with BF3.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I think I might be able to save money on the PSU because mine is good enough from what I can tell:

Antec TruePower Trio 550W... I am fairly sure it has all the connectors I'm going to need, right?

That power supply should be OK for now, I would look to upgrade to a new one in the future. You might want to upgrade your case as well at some point but it should be fine.
I would just go with my spec and change the SSD for the Crucial V4 256GB or save the spare money.
On a side note, I personally don't understand this idea of 'future proofing'. I think you will get better performance for your money at all points in time if you only buy what you need and upgrade more regularly. If you don't need the extra power of the 7950 over say a 7850 you would be better to save the money and upgrade sooner in 2-3 years time. I guess that requires the extra effort of changing the GPU more often, but that isn't exactly hard.
