I think you can overclock it to around 3.3GHz - 3.4 GHz with that cooler (not really sure) and yes definately better than your current setup :)

PS, which cpu fan will I need to allow me to overclock this to around 3.8ghz - i'm awful at deciphering specs for fans etc.

Although I am willing to change the fan to a maximum of 20 quid more to get better performance, I really wanna overclock the hell out of this cpu without killing my pc, thanks.

Would the i7s on full load with the akasa at 3.8ghz be below 70c? what will it be if not? And also siumatfung, will the two front fans included with the case not suffice?
thanks :)

that case only has 2 fans on the top and rear of the case for exhausts
to add more airflow to your case add 2 fans to the front:D

but yeh that cpu cooler is fine i mean ppl get to 3.6 on stock cooling i think lol

oh right, im obviously not very familiar with overclocking :P
ah, i get you now, 2 front fans aren't included, i'll certainly think about buying extra ones - thanks very much for the clear help :)

here are my finalized specs - do they look alright?

that monitor has an incredibly high resolution, but the response time is too high. i'm loving the price on this acer monitor too, and it has a pretty similar bezel to that samsung of yours. will a 700w psu be a good idea, if im planning to upgrade this in the future (2 or 3 years or so). for four quid more it seems like a good idea - and i don't care about the energy usage, it's not me paying for it :)

i would suggest the corsair 620W/750W tbh:D but i guess the 700W model will be fine but do check in the OCZ webby what cables they supply you with

okay, will do - thanks so much for the help

should be ordering this soon, anywhere on the website which tells you how long delivery takes?
