I'm on the look out for a garden sofa. Either a big 2 seater, or a smaller 3 seater.

It must be able to be left outside all year round, and maintenance free.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

I've bought:
  • Intel NUC for £312 RRP £500
  • Made firebowl £78 RRP £200
  • Made mirror £118 RRP £375
  • 2x Made mirror £257 RRP £410
  • HP Colour laserjet for £153 RRP £500
I've found some absolute bargains on there, and they had some lovely garden furniture but I couldn't be bothered to go that high. I would bid up to 60% of the value and hope I win it!

Go to John Pye auctions and look at the Made.com clearance auctions, they had loads of garden furniture available
Great shout, they have some quite nice looking stuff on atm. Might throw some bids on stuff.
Inc fees is about +50% of your winning bid all inc isn't it - luckily close enough to collect some of their bigger bits.
Kinda wish there was a little bit more info in the blurbs though, hard to figure out if some of the outdoor stuff is suitable to be left out all year round and what not.

Thanks mate, might pick up a bargain :D Just need to watch out for the +25%, +20% + £48 delivery fees

I wonder how many people get carried away thinking they've nabbed a bargain only to see the final price payable be 50% more expensive than they thought .

For example, take the RTX 4090 that has a current bid of £1,000 - come hammer time that's really £1,500 with no returns to the seller and other consumer rights eroded.

Glad you've found some bargains, sweet! I have to mention though that if you bid is successful at 60% of the items RRP then in reality you've only saved 10%. Any saving is good but you may have got it cheaper elsewhere with much better buyer protections. Usually the real bargains have already been snapped up by auction house workers and or their friends!

Have some of the made auctions finished already, or can you buy it now? I was looking through briefly, fancied this firepit - https://www.johnpyeauctions.co.uk/E...m-Josper-Cut-Out-Fire-Pit-Black-Metal-RRP-215

Which says remaining nearly 2 days away. So do I need to register and then there will be a live auction at that time, or can I 'buy it now', or is it eBay style and I put my bid in and hope I'm highest when the clock runs out? And with that firepit currently at £12 there is a 25% buyers premium and 20% vat to add, so actually £18? Are a fair bit to more expensive items if so.

You put your bid in like eBay afaik and wait it out then highest bidder gets it. Their system will auto bid higher based on your max bid. I'm going to bid on a few things tomorrow night.

Yeah seems quite steep on the additional charges.
So that NUC would actually be £468, or an extra tenner with delivery. You might have some warranty with the manufacturer but that'll probably depend how old it is.

The prices I put were including all fees and delivery.

One of the good things about the site is before you confirm your bid it tells you what you'd pay including the premiums (not delivery) and so I would take all of it into account and 60% would be my total for everything.
For the mirrors I think I went above my 60% and went to 70% but it never reached that high

Got my eye on 3-4 of their outdoor furniture bits.

Prices are still reasonable but I guess they wont start ramping up until this time tomorrow.

I guess just diving in at the last second and putting your max you want to pay for it in is the easiest way to go about it and it will only go as high as just above the last bidders highest?

Hope I manage to snag some things though as they are only a 35 min drive from me. Biggest issue will be seeing if someone has a van i can borrow to go collect!

Personally I'd just put the most I would be happy to pay and leave it, if I get it great if not then oh well.
And correct if you big £100 max, but someone else bids £90, it'll be your next highest bid £91

Some nice bargains there then! I had a brief look but thought the bid prices would go up.

The thing with these and similar auctions is say there are two people who want the same thing and enter a bidding war - eventually one gives up at an inflated price and the "winner" is then asked "how many of said items do you want, 10 are available?"! If only they knew and gave up way before they would both of got the item cheaper.

I'm assuming the fact they have multiple lots of the same item means something like this won't happen and what is listed is the amount they have.
