Spec me a gfx card?

I am upgrading my PC soon and I am looking at an "Asus ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 256Mb" for £111.61 inc VAT.

I was just wondering if there is anything within that price range (preferebly less) that will perform better. Bearing in mind that I am still using XP so I dont really need a DX10 card and im at a res of 1280 x 1024.

Well if you can hold on a week or so, the 8800GT 256MB card will hit the street and i have seen retail prices for it at around £117, this card will blow the ATI equivalent away.

Personally i would go for this and clock it up as it won't be crippled like the others with there 256mb. Its the HIS3850pro 512mb. Its currently on pre order but is slated to come in stock on the 19th of this month. Link bellow

Its also cheaper than the gt.

Hmmm obviously its going to be best to wait, but for which card?

Is the 8800GT 256mb going to be better than HIS3850pro 512mb. And what is the likelyhood of being able to get either? Would I notice a lot of difference from the memory if im playing at 1280x1024?
