Hi guys,

I am looking for a bang for buck gpu, my budget is £100 ok well £120 max...

I had a 4870 briefly which was great but sent it bang due to heat issues despite having 2 of them so am paranoid about ATI cards...

I would consider one again if it was bang for buck within my budget....

So please assist and spec me up...

not much option for that budget if you want to go for Nvidia since you'd only get card with a G92 chip ;)
might as well save up a bit for a GTX 260 if you're that paranoid about ATI cards...
 
Agreed, the GTX 260 216 is the way to go. Anything less and you will see noticable performace drop compared to your 4870. This is the cheapest one currently available on OCUK.

If you need to stay within your budget and go nvidia, this is the card for you. But as doiks said, its based on the old g92 core and isn't nearly as fast as a 4870 (or gtx 260).

doesnt the 4870 provide better perfomance in literally areas compared to the 260 55nm 896mb ram??

please clarify...
