think i want an 8800gts

not sure about monitor though? currently have a 19" and run games at 1280

was thinking about a 20" ws or 22"

i know its difficult to say but i want to be able to play unreal t 3, quake wars, ...

most of my gaming is CSS

If you're keeping your current monitor then get the 8800GTS 320Mb version. If you're going to upgrade your screen then I'd first check to see if your PSU can handle a X2900XT and if it can then it's a toss up to see between that and the 8800GTS 640mb model.

From the monitors ive seen the 20" have better IQ and games look sharper but the 22" are nice for sitting back and whatching a movie on.

As for the GFX card, it's harder to say whitch is better as know one knows. just flip a coin for the x2900HD - 8800GTS or buy the fastest you can.

ive already got a 32" lcd, so this is purely for fps gaming

Right, you say you want to be able to play the upcoming titles. For this the X1950 isn't going to cut it at 1680x1050.

For a better chance of running new titles then go with the 8800GTS 320Mb at 1280x1024 and the 8800GTS or X2900XT at 1680x1050. The cards are not needed to run a lot of titles at 1680x1050 but the chances of newer, better looking games running at high resolutions is very slim on older cards (X1950/7950).

treat yourself and get the best tft monitor available in the dell 2007WFP and a 8800 GTS 640mb or if u can stretch to a cheap 8800 gtx even better!

forget cheap 22" tn panels they suck!

I got a 22" Hyundai N220W for 187 quid Inc P&p, it's not bad tbh, everything apart from this back light bleed which is noticable, apart from that IQ is fine, I was gonna get one of those Samsung 20" ones for a little cheaper, decided not to tho.
