Hi I am new to buying hardware, would anyone be able to give me a good idea of what would make a nice purchase for a hdd? Im not overly concerned about size. This would have to be an internal HDD. Not sure what the diff between SATA and IDE is

Any help would be great.

sata is faster and the cables are much easier to manage (cleaner looking and more compact)

Your motherboard needs to have SATA sockets though. Anyway I'm partial to anything made by Seagate. Used their hard-drives for years and never had a problem.
