As title really, I need a 10m HDMI cable to go from my amplifier on one side of the room to the TV on the other. No idea on budget so I'll say up to £100.

The more you pay generally gets you a more durable cable, like has it has been said as it is a digital signal if it gets through it gets through.

Thanks for your help, the 10m Labgear HDMI cable arrived today and it works at 1080i. I managed to find it for sale at £19.16 at a competitor’s site.

As you want to send the signal over 10m of cable - IMO, it would be worth investing in something half decent...

depends much info he needs to send per sec down the cable itself tbh to warrant spending a fortune on a cable. Most of the 'proper brands' dont make very long HDMI cables. I know that monster sell a 6m HDMI cable which is 1.3 certified for £200 (ouch!) which tbh is abit bloody daft

Chord silver plus 1.3 for the win, my 1.5 metre lead set me back £80 alone a 10 metre lead will set you back £200 which kind of kills your budget but if you want the best.

There is an argument that upto 2m lengths that the quality of cable is negligible but for anything over 2m, especially 10m then you will definatley need a better quality cable. This has been prooved over and over again by members on avforums.
Personally I have QED-P cables, all 2m long.

My £30 40meter cable has no issues at all. That is well cheap for 40meters.

QED, IXOS, Monster, Techlink - Any of these, You can't go wrong.

You do realise that spending more money on HDMI cables because of it carrying the signal better is no different to spending more money on SATA cables because the video will lose less quality going along the cables.

It must be so much easier walking to the PS3 and back now you don't have that heavy wallet dragging you down.

Nah, i reckon he should get it gold plated, and maybe set some diamonds into the sheething, might help re-align the electrons and jazz up their lives giving a better picture. Plus you can get your friends over and get them to look behind the tv and marvel at the cable and how amazing it is..........

:rolleyes::)
