Spec me a ... helicopter

Blade CX2s are very good :).

I think the batteries last for around 15 minutes, but they're pretty cheap if you want to buy extra ones.

Thanks, are these designed for indoors only?

Yes, indoors only. Or maybe an UTTERLY still day.
The CX2 is ace and really easy to fly. It's stable enough to hover "hands off". I have one and fly it around my living room.
After you've played and crashed that a bit. Get yourself a proper transmitter such as the Spektrum DX7 and a simpulator such as Phoenix RC.
Once you've practiced, you can go to a proper heli. I recomment the Align T-Rex 450SE V2. Make sure you're put in lots of sim practice before you fly though or that first flight will last 5 seconds and cost you £30+ in new blades and other stuff.

My hanger includes:

Align T-Rex 450SE V2
Align T-Rex 600E CF
Blade CX2

Thanks! A bit disappointed I can only fly them indoors, though I suppose one bit of wind and that will be the end of it.

I can fly my CX2 outside in our lane or garden (shielded by hedges on either side though) and its mostly fine unless the winds are really strong.

The CX2 can't handle wind very well at all outside, so fly on a quiet day if using outside!

The batteries last 10-15 minutes, I have quite a few spares some genuine ones, some flightpower ones and also some DNpower - always have a few charged.

Spares are easy to get hold of, and not too expensive (depending how much you crash!) I've got the Xtreme motors in mine and also , Xtreme landing skids (never break!) and graphite tail boom set which is supposed to help when flying outdoors.

I haven't really used mine for a few months, but will get back around to it soon!

I've not been very impressed by these little gyro helicopters, I have a small twin engined bi-plane, it's much more fun than my helio was.

I can't post a link (competitor), but it's an "X-Flying Club Mini Bi-Plane":

It flys at about a slow jogging speed (unless you take the lower wing off), can land it in the palm of my hand, and maintain about 5cm off the deck for ages, or fly very high (get it upwind of you if you do this).

Funny that someone with the name biggles would have a biplane. :p

I take it outside they just get blown away?
