Hi guys

So the past 4 years have been a bit of a rollercoaster, ive gone from working 60 hours a week running a business to quitting my job and moving back home with my Dad to support him going through cancer. Whilst i had made that decision i realised that cancer is a slow process, slower than anyone wants it to be and not a lot happens... Given this i decided to return to university.

I started Uni in september 2016 and unfortunatley by December 2016 my dad lost his battle with cancer, the next two years at uni have been very difficult, losing my dads dad a year to the day i lost my dad didn't help and i am now 2 days away from submitting my final piece of work. I SHOULD be graduating with a 1st class degree but only time will tell.

So getting to the point of the post, i am way overdue a holiday...

What im looking for
Cheap and cheerful
Swimming pool to relax in
7-10 nights (14 is too many)
All inclusive
Flights included
£500-700 range

What im not looking for
City breaks
Air bnb
A nearby beach isn't essential
I'd rather avoid the middle east including turkey/tunisia

I know i can save myself a fortune by avoiding package deals, but i just want to book and have everything dealt with, i have no idea what time of year is best, i have no idea what locations are reccomended or advised.

Ive noticed that booking a week or so apart can result in prices doubling and for some reason they love charging solo travellers more... so i feel like im navigating a mine-field whilst browsing.

If anyone could make any reccomendations or considerations it would be greatly appreciated.

One of the main reasons prices go up on certain weeks is school holidays. Book outside of school holidays to get a better price and a lower chance of children on your flight and/or in your hotel.

That requires another 9 people to split the cost of the villa?

If that IS the case, then check out sites for Villa Holidays on the Algarve, lots of them advertise the accommodation as £750, £850, £900 per week, sleeps 4/5/6 or whatever.
So you pay £xxx p.w., whether you’re on your own, or with 3 others.

This is especially annoying when your girlfriend is a teacher!

Just use a search engine like onthebeach.co.uk or try Thomas Cook or TUI etc. Probably Crete or one of the countless other Greek islands would be a good fit for your requirements.

I'm also looking at booking a holiday for myself, having had a rather tumultuous few months. I'd suggest having a look at jet2holidays.com. Plenty of package deals for within your budget. Gran Canaria is pretty decent (for example) and well within your budget for a week.

Thank you for the reccomendations guys :) will take a look at them all shortly, planning on booking by monday.

First I knew that Tunisia was in the middle east. Or Turkey for that matter.
As far as i knew Turkey is middle east and tunisia is technically north africa but culturally referred to as the middle east?

I think he means he doesn't want to be blown up while queuing for breakfast or shot on the beach.
Well that wouldn't be pleasant, whilst i do tend to feel a tad uncomfortable in some of the more rural middle eastern countries the primary reason is for health and hygine reasons, i have been to Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt before, and the food safety is undoubtedly shocking, even so i did enjoy those holidays but not this time, i just want to relax.

Does he also want to partake in wild generalisations whilst there?
Think it was more of a joke than anything :P

How many people or are you going lone wolf? I'll do some searching for you, love holiday shopping haha :p

Lone wolf :p

Ive been before and had a few bad "tummy" experiences after having their food, also i never felt 100% safe when i went there in past.
Been to turkey many times, never had an issue.

Guessing this also means Morocco is off the list of options?
