Spec me a ......... vacuum cleaner

I need a new hoover, have no idea what im looking for really, when i think of hoovers i think of dyson and there really expensive

Whats a good one for under £75? the missus keeps looking at the cheapest possible ones shes can find but i cant help but think it'd be a waste of money when we could just get something with more ooomph and reliability, hence i need the life experiance of ocuk

Cheers :)

I have the asda bagless hoover and it's fine so far (about 2 months old).
it is a little noisy but it picks up everything and it has a good long lead.

refurbed dyson :)

place up here does them for 55 quid for the boggo dyson upright, with a years guarantee

You mean a vacuum cleaner or do you specifically want a "Hoover"? ;)

Our upright Panasonic is a damn decent one, the thing nearly sucks the carpets up.

i HATE them, they just never seem to pick anything up

You must be using it wrong.

My partner runs a cleaning business and they are the only vacuum cleaners that are any good. They are well made and last for years and replacements parts are available for the whole unit so whatever damage you cause to it you can rebuild it without having to buy a new one.

Bags are dirt cheap (around £5 for 10) and you can also use them without a bag as the filter is tough and durable and can be cleaned.

You can use a Henry without the bag? Never knew that. It ok to use them without the bags, i mean they're kind of annoying to keep purchasing - even if they're £5 for 10 - still costly in the long run. :p

Yeah you can use them without the bags but you really need an airline to blow out the filter so you don't lose suction. I guess you could just bang it against the wall :)

A new filter is £18.

I spose the ones i use are very very old and had much use

lol sorry vacuum cleaners then :p i honestly didnt know there was a difference (always thought one was an amercian saying, ill just blame my parents for that mistake)

dont like the henrys, theres about 6 of them at work and they couldnt pick up a hooker in amsterdam so was looking for something different, might have a look at refurbished dysons as mentioned

Just becasue your work has some battered old ones dosen't really count on it's sucking ability, but why do so many cleaning firms buy Henry's but not Dyson's? ;)
