Spec me a ......... hoover

Just becasue your work has some battered old ones dosen't really count on it's sucking ability, but why do so many cleaning firms buy Henry's but not Dyson's? ;)

they have one dyson, quite an old one, but its far better at its job than the henrys

LG ( Life´s good)
http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/v-c7770ct.jhtml

I have two(1 bagless cost me 100 euros)and other with bag( 65 euros:D),but the bag is reusable( once is full,I turn it inside out ,wash it with water and a little bleach, two days at the sun&wind and the bag is ready again :)

I had some in the past- Hoover, Bosch- some crap made in Spain Solac and Ufesa - and no one came closer to the LG´s

they are champs in quality/ price ratio

Becuase they are durable and inexpensive - this is of primary concern to a cleaning firm, more so than outright performance.

Now get on MSN becuase somebody from Ireland is very keen to converse with you.

I'm waiting for the seriously sad ******* who starts a spec me a spec me thread.

Try making choices for yourself, as crazy ass as that may sound.

I wonder what you lot done before the int3rnetz

This is true - if it needs to be durable. Durability is of lesser importance when chosing a home vacuum cleaner than it is when chosing an industrial one.

Now get on MSN.

There are far, far worse threads in GD than spec me a hoover. Seriously, he wants to spend £200 on an electrical appliance, who wouldnt first do a bit of research? He isnt buying a £3 sandwich.

Before the intern3tz you'd have read Which? magazine. Now we have the internet, he can ask others for advice.

Henry is hardly a £30 jobbie from the Catalouge, I doubt it is really going to have trouble hooving some crap off the carpet :p

£200?

Looks like £75 to me in the OP.

Or you'd just buy a hoover.

surprisingly i care about what i get for my money, where better to ask than in a GENERAL DISCUSSION area of a well populated forum where a lot of people can give some well formulated advice

thank you too those who have given some recommendations, the missus has spotted the henry and really wants one because of the face  women....

You might, I'd research it first. This might include asking others their opinion.

£75 doesnt grow on trees. How would you know what to buy without finding out whats around?

Open my eyes = look

No amount of money grows on trees.

Considering the type of product it is, and depending on the state of your house it is not the most used item. (I hoover twice a week at best, have a pretty dust / dirt free house).

For what it is, imo such deliberation seems totally unnecessary to me.

me and the missus are 20 years old, we have our first place together, and dont exactly have cash to throw at any old piece of crap thats going to fall apart within 6months

Simply trying to make the most of my money by spending what little i have, wisely
