Wassup Forum, I need a PC for my old man and my little sisters.

All they do is FB, youtube, online flash games, and skype... a lot.

Here is what I need in this system:

Modular PSU (easy for me to build)

Keyboard

Mouse

OS

Tower

Do you think its worth going to the purple place and just picking up a £410 deal comes with tower and monitor? the CPU is a dual core begins with a G very low end. Thanks OCuk :)

My dad watches movies, so a GPU to handle Blu rays?.

no way for under budget, with o/s went for win7 as if you go with win 8 you need reatail bluray player and software as win 8 doesn't support bluray playback without software

trinity would be great for his & her needs, can add a card later if more gpu power is needed (MSI HD 6670 2048MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £59.99 inc VAT) works in crossfire mode with onboard etc

will have another look and re think. nope not for quad core and monitor and o/s, anything cheaper would do as you don't need 4 core, dual would be fine, and im guessing thats what your quote was for, yep (dual core begins with a G very low end)

i'll re spec and do same to show you price difference

using same bits with a trinity dual core chip first

1 x Samsung S22B300BS 22" Widescreen LED Monitor - Glossy Black £99.98

same monitor and bluray player used, o/s and kb/mouse combo and a pre built base unit as i can't spec cheaper, and wouldn't either as it's too low end to try and beat as thats what type you have seen for the price, for them it would work fine, but no way near a trinity dual core setup, and the better first quad would walk all over it tbh. so it's your choice and budget. good luck

just seen as well you didn't spec a monitor, but first building did? if you don't need one then £100 saving straight away :) so go for a trinity quad core, my first post as mine has o/s and bluray player :) as asked for, for bluray software just download a codec pack, search google for bluray software or codec and there's plenty that will do it

true snips m8 and good morning, don't think he needs a monitor either but does need a o/s as quote first post "Here is what I need in this system:

Modular PSU (easy for me to build)
Keyboard
Mouse
OS
Tower

so monitor might have just been left out or already have one etc?

changed memory as well :) and removed monitor so price now looks better, near to dual core price in posters first post, so guess that doesn't come with monitor either, and this will be much better than his spec :) good luck in what ever you chose

quote"My dad watches movies"

so on dvd then, and not bluray, or online movie watch etc, as without the player, dvd bluray drive there's no way of doing it :) and he has no o/s either, so your first post was in error as you asked for a o/s:)

1 x ASRock FM2A55M-DGS AMD A55 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £44.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020058-UK) £39.98

1 x **B Grade** Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM £30.00

You want an old man and some little kids messing with Ubuntu, I think windows will be more user friendly here.

Yeah, Windows is pretty much the standard and if the children started to use Ubuntu they may have trouble readjusting to Windows in school, college etc.

Anyhow for all they are doing is web browsing and watching movies I'd recommend looking at a A4 processor, not a A10. A A8-10 will be wasted on them as they will not need that power.
