Spec me a iPhone Development Company Name

Propapanda, a play on propoganda. Not sure why but that's what it is.

I see someone has already stated similair, didn't read all first. DOH

"spec me an iphone app that has to be cheep"?

I remember reading an article about iPhone dev companies. Its supposed to be very hard to make money out of it due to the price of apps having to be cheap so that they appear higher up the listings.

On the flip side, I could talking pony being that I have never owned an iPony due to the destinct lack of proper multitasking. <cough>ocs client</cough>

You're probably right, however I have made this game in my free time and there it hasn't cost me anything other than my own time. So if I earn anything more than the £59 (ish) the development license cost me is profit.

The problem is that people expect something for nothing. Hence your business model for game releases has to take that into account - either lock them into an episode form (ie generate loyalty and then reuse the developed engine on subsequent versions by adding content and incremental improvements of the engine).

propaganda!Panda with the upside down 'i' almost subscript is a great name.

However if you develop the game in OpenGL, it's more likely that the hard work of the graphics engine is portable. The UI code will always differ between devices anyway but the concept of a view with OpenGL is going to be a basic pattern.

I think the iphone games industry is better served by the company name: dotBOOM!

It's currently swamped by crap, it's better games that could make money are based on intellectual property of old games re-released or tie-ins with current game franchises.

Whilst everything you guys are saying is true, I personally know a couple of people who have made fair amounts of money on iPhone games.

I'm not expecting to become a millionaire from my game, it's more just a tick in a box... i have a game published [tick].

I'll probably then move on to my next project :)

It is difficult to know the true running costs of either Z4MC or Z4C as they are only now emerging from the warranty period.

You're not thinking of the marketing potential...

Why do you want Panda? If someone likes your game, tells other people...then people look for your website through Google how on Earth are they going to find you by looking for Panda?

Without looking at Google tell me where you can get greetings cards custom printed and sent from an online company...

That should tell you what you need to be doing with your name - make it unique, catchy and above all make it memorable and easy to find on Google as there is nothing like it!

You've spent two months making the game, don't fall at the last hurdle, who knows where your iPhone business could go...
